Simply Unbeatable | More Power in Less Space

MC4 Y-branch connectors, fixed (choose size)
We recommend a variation of these Y-branch connectors when wiring your panels in parallel as they serve to simplify your wire runs, ease installation and provide a good connection and have a weatherproof seal (IP67) to withstand the outside elements. 
 
They are each sold in pairs and are very easy to connect together (plug and play) with MC4 connectors on the end.  Designed not to pull apart you will need an MC4 tool to remove them, available in our shop.
 
Choose 2-1 for wiring 2 panels in parallel
Choose 3-1 for wiring 3 panels in parallel (*and order 3x in-line MC4 fuses) 
Choose 4-1 for wiring 4 panels in parallel (*and order 4x in-line MC4 fuses)
 
*Over Current Protection (OCP) is required with an appropriately sized in-line MC4 fuse to each panel (positive) because when wired in parallel the combined panels current (amps) may exceed the Series Fuse Rating for a single panel.  The Series Fuse Rating varies with each panel but is either 15A, 20A or 25A (check panel spec sheet).

Our gen run time has
been cut nearly 50%

The solar is working out great! Yesterday in the Exumas I saw 39A @24vdc from the 3x410W panels.  Each panel was around 400 Watts which really exceeded my expectations.  Our gen run time has been cut nearly 50% and the peace of mind leaving the boat at anchor for day trips is priceless.  Thanks again for all your help with our system.

On sunny days I

I've done two solar projects with Lyall at Sun Powered Yachts on the same boat. The first was with 2x flexible panels mounted on the Bimini with a total of about 340Watts.  The second was 3x 410Watt fixed frame panels, with all the charge controllers, circuit breakers and accessories needed. Lyall helped me design and pick all the parts and pieces to get that all working.

So now I generally

Thanks for all the help in planning my solar project for my boat. The two 170W flexible panels fit well on my Bimini and now I generally don't bother hooking up to shore power.  Although I haven’t had any long trips since my installation I have done a few day trips. And even with fridge, radio, plotters, autopilot and occasional radar it seems that these panels are keeping up with my usage. I did add some stiffener material to the back of the panels and attached the panels with zippers and they have survived a few 30 knot days and one night with winds gusting well over 55 knots. No damage at all and no signs of flexing problems.

Lyall and Katie are so knowledgeable.  I tried this project with a lesser quality panel and the project failed because it wasn't efficient enough. The SunPower® Maxeon Gen III cells are compact and simply kick out more Volts/Current than all the others on the market today.   And by using the SunPower® panel, everything was smooth and efficient.  I love my new 170W 29V 5.83A panel!!  It made my project work.   Thanks Lyall for all your knowledge in making this work.
