We have just come to the end of our last day at IBEX in Tampa, FL and it has been a really busy & inspiring few days. For those of you that don't know, IBEX is a trade show for the marine industry and is not the same as your typical boatshow as it's not open to the general public. This is a chance for businesses in the marine world to target other businesses (B2B) and showcase their latest products & services, to share ideas and collaborate on future designs and projects. IBEX is powered by METSTRADE, the world's largest marine tradeshow held in Europe each year (November 19-21, 2019 in Amsterdam)
During IBEX the Tampa Exhibition Center becomes a playground for all things new and shiny for recreational & commercial boating. There are boats on the water outside & with 3 floors inside and over 700 exhibitors from all around the world it's almost dizzying and by the time you reach the third floor it is like sensory overload!
Introducing the SunPower X-22 370W
During the show we were able to demonstrate the advantages of the SunPower E-flex solar panels (50W, 110W & 170W) aswell as introduce the SunPower X-22 which is a fixed frame 370W DC SunPower solar panel. As an authorized dealer with SunPower we are very excited about opening up this channel to make the 370W panel available to the marine industry. The X-22 uses SunPower's high efficiency Maxeon Gen III cells that are found in the 170W & 110W flexible panels. For the spec sheet & more information on the SunPower X-22 please email us.
IBEX provides a platform for education, we were able to attend a few of the seminars and tech talks available, aswell as networking events - VIP happy hours, a millennial boat ride (where Katie got to go 65 knots on the water!) and the opportunity to put leaders from the industry in front of your booth. We chatted with CEOs, purchasing managers, boat builders, designers, educators - all of whom with a wealth of experience and knowledge that it was great to share our ideas with. We would like to thank everyone that stopped by our booth to chat with us about the SunPower panels and the many advantages and benefits that going solar aboard a boat can have, from less noise & fewer oil changes to more power and more savings, especially with the Federal Tax Credits.
I hope that we have both inspired & informed those who we got to meet at IBEX 2019 & Sun Powered Yachts certainly looks forward to being back at IBEX in 2020. See you next year!
