It's Boatshow time!

As we prepare for Annapolis Sailboat Show in a week's time we had a quick look back at some of the boatshows we've exhibited at since we first launched Sun Powered Yachts in 2018. Each show has been a great opportunity for us to chat solar & sailing and answer any questions boat owners have had about going solar.

With 30% Federal Tax Credits to take advantage of too there's no better time to enjoy clean & quiet solar power.

We love #boothlife for the mad few days it is: meeting lots of boaters, getting to know our booth neighbors really well & also getting a good feel for how solar sits in the marine market. Back in 2018 it felt like we had a lot of people asking us, "Why do I need solar on my boat?" Since then solar has become more mainstream and there has been a transition to, "How many panels can I fit?" and "Tell me more about SunPower" and more often lately, "Can I charge my electric boat with solar?"

Already it feels like in the majority of marinas and anchorages owners are retrofitting solar to existing boats and what's more amazing to see is the number of boat manufacturers adding solar to new builds. We're also excited by the number of electric boats and solar-electric boats hitting the water - why not charge your batteries whilst underway to help extend range & time on the water? Have a read of our news post about 'range anxiety'.

We look forward to taking part in many more boatshows in the coming years and continuing to inspire & inform boat owners on the benefits of going solar.

solar is here to stay :)
