We are looking ahead to being on the water celebrating Summer Sailstice on June 24th 2023 and wondering if you have made any plans? The Summer Sailstice is organized by the West Coast sailing magazine Latitude 38 and aims to get as many people out on the water for the longest day of the year. We have been taking part for the past few years:
2019 - Paxos, Greece
2020 - Gocek, Turkey
2021 - Kailua-Kona, Hawaii
2022 - Cancun, Mexico
This year we may well be sailing in the Bahamas but it's a little early to firm up our plans as our boat 'Blake' a Dufour 382 is for sale! We're in a position where we still want to enjoy our boat while it is listed, rather than having it sitting on the hard waiting for the next buyer we will be sailing as much as we possibly can!!
We really enjoyed our time on the water in 2021 aboard SV Solstice, a Cape George Cutter 31 skippered by Paul Exner who runs Modern Geographic. It was a real family day, all the kids had a blast and were soon helping to raise the mainsail, fishing, and singing shanty songs on the bowsprit!
